Hello!
I’m originally from Detroit, Michigan. I completed my Masters of Social Work from the University of Cincinnati in 2015. Looking for a change, I moved to Houston in 2021 and have made it my home.
About Me
I’ve worked with adults with severe and persistent mental illness for the last 10 years. From working in community mental health to a psychiatric hospital, I’ve received considerable training and exposure to be where I am today. I am ready and willing to make a difference. The wealth of knowledge I’ve gained from working with individuals with anxiety, depression, mood and personality disorders, relationship and marital issues, as well as codependency is immeasurable. I regularly participate in trainings to maintain competency in my areas of expertise. I specialize in: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Brief Solution Focused therapy, and Cognitive Processing.
My Approach to Counseling
Saying “Life is hard” might be an understatement for many. As a black therapist, I understand the challenges that life sometimes brings. Finding a therapist to help navigate those issues can be greater or equally as challenging. As much stigma that’s associated with seeking help, it’s important to make it a positive experience. My job is to create a space where you can both thrive and reach your fullest potential. Your ability to be successful in this process is determined by your motivation and willingness to achieve your goals. I am here to assist you in that process.
