About Madeline Minor:
My clinical background is rooted in both community mental health and private practice experiences. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. I have a deep desire to help individuals navigate through barriers that are hindering their well-being.
A core pillar of my work is supporting millennial women. I see a pervasive pattern within this generation: a struggle with people-pleasing and establishing healthy boundaries. I am committed to guiding clients as they reclaim their voices and design lives that truly reflect their authentic selves.
This commitment extends deeply into the realm of maternal health, an area frequently overlooked, especially within the Black community. Drawing on my own experience as a Black woman, I understand the unique intersection of cultural expectations and systemic barriers that can make the journey into motherhood uniquely challenging.
My other passion is in helping couples with communication struggles. I offer communication-focused therapy and conflict resolution skills, often drawing from Gottman Method. Whether you’re navigating the transition to parenthood, struggling with recurring arguments, or feeling disconnected, I provide practical tools and evidence-based strategies to strengthen your connection.
Beyond Therapy
I’m a proud Houston native with deep roots in this city. Whether I’m cheering on the Texans or spending time with my two nieces who bring endless joy to my life, family and community are what ground me.
I’m also a devoted dog parent to Hendrixx, my Pit/Staffy mix. Another fun fact, I have an identical twin sister!

My Approach to Counseling
I have a deep passion for guiding individuals through life’s complexities, helping them to “connect the dots” and empowering them to view their current situations through a fresh, insightful lens. This process goes beyond simple problem-solving; it involves uncovering underlying patterns and illuminating a path toward clarity and self-understanding.
My practice utilizes a truly integrative approach to therapy, moving beyond a single modality to create a holistic treatment experience. I blend powerful, evidence-based techniques tailored precisely to your unique goals. These include established methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for practical skills and shifting thought patterns, insights from Family Systems Theory to understand relationship dynamics, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for healing past hurts, and strategies from the Gottman Method to enhance relationship communication. This multi-faceted approach ensures that we address every dimension of your well-being.
Above all, I am dedicated to providing a therapeutic space where the focus remains entirely on you—a safe haven where you feel genuinely listened to, deeply respected, and secure enough to explore vulnerable areas. The therapeutic alliance we form is special, and I honor the inherent strengths and unique journey you bring into the room. While acknowledging your existing resilience, I am also here to collaboratively help you learn vital new skills to navigate challenges, foster profound personal growth, and move toward a more fulfilling, authentic life.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your mental health journey, I am excited to partner with you. Together we can uncover your strengths, address the challenges you face, and develop a path forward that works best for you.
